Despite the terrible weather, the two-day badger vaccination training event went ahead as planned on 24 February 2020.
The event was in partnership with Avon Wildlife Trust with the aim of increasing our numbers of vaccinators, and helpers so we can undertake even more vaccination of badgers here in Somerset in the future.
Helpers are not qualified lay-vaccinators, but are vital to the programme nonetheless.
The training was well attended with some great presentations in the classroom, followed by practical demonstrations ‘in the field’.
This covered amongst other areas, surveying, setting traps and bio-security.
Thanks to all involved, here’s to another successful year of badger vaccination in Somerset, Avon, plus other locations we have been involved in across the South West.
