Before you can become a lay vaccinator, you need to undergo approved and accredited badger vaccination training.  Somerset Badger Group has its own accredited trainers.

There are three training modules that teach you how to trap and vaccinate badgers, these are:

Module 1 – Supporting skills for badger vaccination

Module 2 – Cage trapping for badger vaccination (compulsory)

Module 3 – Badger vaccination (compulsory).

We run all three courses for volunteers who are either already involved with a badger vaccination project or are part of a group setting up a project. Our trainers are all Animal and Plant Health Agency accredited trainers.  Learn more about the badger vaccination process.
